Unpublished

As a designers, lot of our works go un-liked, un-posted, and unpublished by lots of clients. Now, why don't we make a blog post out of them. So the world could see my secret designs which has been very secretly kept from the lime light :) for no reason at all.

So let see, where do we start. From the beginning of my career there are just so many but, lets narrow down them to some of them I really loved and enjoyed working.

It was for one of my favorite clients, she loved them so much. I absolutely felt so good designing this. Will keep sharing the designs till the last.

Book designing

I also did some book designing recently. I mean a year back, when I had to be with my baby. I usually put her to sleep, grab my wacom and just immerse myself into beautiful kids illustrations. I wanted to self publish a book on my native language Tamil. You dont find too many books for kids on Tamil rhymes. So I thought why not make an illustrated, colorful, interesting book based on that. Its been a year I worked on this. I almost took 6-8 months illustrating for the book. It came out beautiful, all the illustrations were out of my heart. Basically I wanted to make a book for my daughter, if you see closely most of the little baby and girl child illustration in the book will look just like my daughter.

I was supposed to launch the book for quiet some time, but for some reason I couldn't find a good printing press. I have been looking for publishers as a second option, also eBook if it would work out for these kind of books. Lets see how it goes, but just wanted to share on what I have been upto so far. Consider it a sneak peak. Also working on more book, the contents are ready just working on illustrations

Tattoo it is

Never really a tattoo person or thought of working on them. But a brother of mine, asked me to work on a tattoo sketch based on the God Murgas Spear, which we call 'Vel' to be unique and interesting. He was gonna have the sketch pinned on to himself for as long as he wants with lot of pain and he trusted me with the design, I mean which was quiet big. Everyone knows the process of tattooing and how it hurts. So I did put my heart and soul on this design. I am quiet a spiritual one, but this made me a bit more spiritual. My husband being his friend too got excited and helped me with ideas. And I came up with quiet some sketches. Honestly I loved sketching them, maybe one of the best works I did so far. Everyone loved the sketch so much, they all said it just gave a new perspective to the Vel itself. :)

This is how it came out, the tattoo maker did all justice to the design.

Explode through art

Its been quiet a long while I posted or opened up my heart. I mean, life has ups and downs then and there but a pit fall happens sometimes too. All you could do at such times, it follow up, and go with the pace, so you could see where life is taking you. Yes I was socially silent, but didn't and couldn't shut down my mind.

I painted walls, made art on empty walls, painted table, chair, painted rocking horse, what not. I made toys, dresses for my new charm, my daughter. I made clouds, stars, sun, moon, everything that would make her happy, because, thats what mattered for me. I still couldn't see whats happening with me, or take it or talk about it, all I could do is be silent with my emotions and explode my passion for art in everything I see. Luckily, this new addition in my life, my daughter appreciated me with a sense of surprise and awe in her face every time I did something, I could see she loved it. So I kept going and still does.

Well now is the time, I share all I did. And yes I am a designer back again now, I started accepting projects, most correctly started getting projects. So if you are looking for me designing for you, bring in the projects, bring in new challenges, cause I am ready to diversify from from my existing design interests.

Well all I could say is passion for something will keep you going, know matter in which part of life you are.

Wish for Education-A Whimsical Journey

My design journey with The Unity Closet a beautiful venture is being continued. I am so glad to be a part of the social cause education.

Why education, "I feel Education for youth strongly correlates to a world that is peaceful and happy." In accordance with this, let me share my design for "The unity closet",

The artwork features floating books in the sky liberating knowledge and wisdom in our world

If you take a closer look into the illustration, you will find a beautiful world with “Freedom of Education” in nature itself. Where dandelions made of books liberate papers as information into beautiful origami birds that spread education all over. Hoping for a world with education in its very own nature.

Let's support education by shopping scarves made for education so that we could raise approximately $30,000 to fund the construction of a school in the outskirts of Nepal through buildOn.

The unity closet

As The unity closet proudly says, "We offer socially empowered designers around the globe a platform to bring their vision to life." The Unity Closet promotes fashion with a purpose. They are trying to bring together the world’s most promising artists who are passionate about designing.

Each artist utilizes the featured product – the silk scarf – to convey a social problem plaguing the world today. The most inspiring fact about this organization is, all the profits from these products are donated to relevant charitable groups. The person behind this thoughtful organization is the founder Ashika Kalra, her idea is going to bring beautiful change in the global environment, food for the starving, education for everyone, protection for women, water for the thirsty.

For example, All profits from the "A Splash of Hope Scarf," by Dyana Wing So through Surge for Water will provide up to 1 year of safe drinking water for at least 10 children in Southeast Asia, Africa, and South America, how wonderful is that to hear, a creation with meaningful purpose.

“Trees of Knowledge” scarf features an eclectic mix of earthy green tones and motivational phrases to inspire the student in you. All artwork is digitally conceptualized by South African artist Dianne Bohler in 100% Pure Silk with rolled hems. All profits from this scarf will go to Books For Africa.

There are beautiful other scarfs done by Anna Moss, Drashti GehlotFrancoise Jeanne de Villiers will be posted soon, as I get updates Chazz Griffen who is doing a marvelous job in marketing.
